Using the Sentinel #1
When you have completed the tutorial, your sensor is ready to be used to collect data and help science move forward. The process is automated from now on and requires no action from you besides turning the sensor on and off.
If the sensor is not connected to the internet, like at sea, turning it on will automatically start data collection and save data into a csv-file. If the data is connected to your wifi, the csv-file created will automatically be sent to our email and we will be able to upload it to our web page.
To summarize the tutorial for usage, follow this procedure:
-
Collect the sensor from the marina office when leaving. Make sure it is turned of when leaving the office.
-
Connect the sensor to your powerbank when in open water. This will by itself turn the sensor and data collection on
-
When the data collection is over and you are heading home, turn the sensor off by disconnecting it from the powerbank. This will terminate the data collection and save the gathered data.
-
When arriving at the marina office again, restart the sensor by connecting it to a charger or the powerbank. This way we receive the mail and will be able to process the information sent by you. Do not turn the sensor off after usage. Instead leave it on for the next guests
